The SEQ Water Grid Manager, in partnership with Grid Participants and government stakeholders, holistically manages the water supply chain and its capacity to deliver high-quality water to customers, maintaining regional water security for the entire South East Queensland community.

The SEQ Water Grid Manager does this by issuing Water Grid instructions to direct the production and transfer of bulk water throughout the region.

The SEQ Water Grid is equipped to handle and respond quickly and efficiently to emergencies. This is supported by a Water Grid Emergency Response Plan ensuring a consistent, well coordinated response to such events.

Effective emergency prevention, preparedness, response and recovery is also aided by a resilient Water Grid, ensuring critical infrastructure is backed up by the ability to draw on other sources of water, including the Gold Coast Desalination Plant.
